Not seen after sunset: On 27 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Mr Modoris Ali from Cradley Heath City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Modoris Ali commented: "I could not see the moon [as] it was raining and totally cloudy, today. [Weather forecast image added - Admin]".

Not seen after sunset: On 27 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Mr Nasar Ramzan from London City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Mr Nasar Ramzan commented: "Solid cloud with light rain. No chance of sighting [in Leyton area]".

Not seen after sunset: On 27 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from Kowloon City in the Kowloon County (Hong Kong) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "I was travelling in Hong Kong this week (to visit family) and attempted to sight the moon but the western horizon was obstructed by a small mountain so I didn't see the moon even though a bright star (Venus) near the moon position was easily visible".

Seen after sunset: On 27 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Mr Abdessamad Doukkane from Nador City in the Oriental County (Morocco) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Abdessamad Doukkane commented: "The sighting of the crescent is confirmed by the naked eye in the eastern side: Oujda-Taourirt-Nador ... and inability due to clouds in some cities: Tangier-Larache-Rabat-Casablanca. The Association of Moroccan Initiative for Science and Thought participated with the delegation of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Nador and confirmed the [positive] sighting of the crescent [moon] in an official record".

Not seen after sunset: On 27 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Abha City in the Aseer County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Waited until local moon set 18.25. There were a very few clear patches in the cloudy sky from before the sunset time (17.33) but as time went it became totally cloudy and crescent moon wasnt seen. Watched the cloudy sky until 18.30".

Not seen after sunset: On 28 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Mr Mohammad Baig from Slough City in the Berks County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Seen after sunset: On 28 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from Victoria Peak City in the Hong Kong Island County (Hong Kong) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "I was travelling in Hong Kong and decided to visit Victoria Peak (554m/1818 ft height) to observe the sunset and the crescent moon. Seen after sunset: On 28 Nov 2019, ICOUK member Prof Hassan Talibi from Benslimane City in the Casablanca-Settat County (Morocco) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Prof Hassan Talibi commented: "سيكون المنظر جميلا لأت الهلال سيقترن بالزهرة / Translation: 'The view was beautiful because the crescent moon was paired with Venus' (submitted on 3/12/2019 - Admin)".


Announcement for start of Rabi-ul Thani 1441 AH

On Wednesday 27th November 2019 (29th Rabi-ul Awwal 1441 AH) the Hilal of Rabi-ul Thani 1441 was not sighted in the UK (as it was mostly cloudy), but it was sighted in Morocco. We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).

Therefore, the month of Rabi-ul Awwal 1441 AH will have 29-days and the month of Rabi-ul Thani 1441 AH will start from Thursday 28th November 2019, InShaAllah.

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
