The crescent visibility map below for Ramadan 1437 shows that moon will be born on 5 June 2016 at 02:59 GMT/UT, but it may not be visible by the naked-eye anywhere in the UK/Morocco region on that date. However, on 6 June 2016 the moon will be easily visible in most countries of the world. Hence, the month of Ramadan is most likely to start from 7 June 2016.

Not seen after sunset: On 05 Jun 2016, ICOUK member Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar from Birmingham City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar commented: "I tried to sight the moon from my hotel room in Kingswinford, Dudley between 21:19 - 21:34, Local sunset timewas 21:26 and moon set time was 21:33. horizon was hazy and partly cloudy. I was unable to sight the moon through Naked Eye as well as through 20x Binoculars. ".

Mr Yakub Atkins commented: "I looked for the Hilal with my daughter from a window in a 6 story high building with clear views over East London on Upton Lane, East London. Sky slightly hazy. No sighting using naked eye. (I have seen the Hilal before clearly from the same location during summer months from the same location)".

Not seen after sunset: On 05 Jun 2016, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from London (Tooting) City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "The 6 of us attempted a sighting from the the 3rd floor of Tooting Islamic Centre. Our view became restricted as we observed from a small window . The horizon seem hazy. We commence our observation from before sunset and continued our observation for at least 10 minutes. The hilal set 8 minutes after sunset in London. It was not sighted".

Seen after sunset: On 06 Jun 2016, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from Croydon (Pollards Hill) City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "The Hilal was easily sighted by the 3 of us and joining us later was Mr John as he was passing by. Pollards Hill in Norbury was a good location. The sky was hazy and dark at the horizon. We were able to see the Hilal above the dark horizon. The Hilal was sighted by Ahsan Valimohammed, Abdul Rahman (his son) and Mr John".

Mr Juned Patel commented: "On Monday 6 June 2016 (29 Shaban 1437 AH) between 19.35 to 19.45 UTC ( Local Sunset time was 19.19 UTC & Moonset Time was 20.34 UTC) at 21.921246N 73.078896E Makka Masjid, Main Bazar, Palej, Ta. Cherish, Gujarat, India. We attempted to sight the crescent moon (Hillal) of Ramadan. And the crescent has been sighted at 19.38 Azimuth 285° Altitude +11°, Sky was clear. I have attached images here.".

Seen after sunset: On 06 Jun 2016, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Abha City in the Aseer County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Easily seen but only after around 20 min from sunset and Magrib Azan. This was a 36 hrs old crescent.".
Announcement for start of Ramadan 1437 AH
On Sunday 5th June 2016 (29th Shaban 1437 AH) the Hilal of Ramadan 1437 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a negative report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the UK Ulama have decided that the month of Shaban 1437 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Ramadan 1437 AH will start from Tuesday 7th June 2016, Insha-Allah.
Note that none of the official Saudi Hilal Committee astronomers (with telescopes) could see the Hilal on 5th June 2016, but the usual early-sighters from near Riyadh have claimed a sighting.
