Not seen after sunset: On 25 Jan 2020, ICOUK member Dr Wajida Hannani from Belfast City in the Northern Ireland County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Dr Wajida Hannani commented: "I attended the site [Divis & Black Mountain] recommended by brother Qamar with an excellent panoramic view over the western southern and northern horizon. I arrived about 45 minutes after Maghreb the crescent moon was not visible. This was my first attempt and will ensure that I arrive prior to Maghreb tomorrow evening Insha Allah in preparation".

Maulana Hidayatullah Patel commented: "Two of us were present at Mellor, Blackburn, however it was totally cloudy".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "We had a busy day at York Astronomical Society (YAS) today, with over 20 Muslim Scouts from Halifax (51st Pellon Scouts Group) visited us to learn about astronomy and moon sighting. Unfortunately, it was totally cloudy in York today (25/1/2020) but the group went away with some tips to try out locally tomorrow and in the future, InshaAllah. Many thanks to their leaders (Br Zaheer Khalil and Sr Sajida Kauser) for organising the trip to YAS observatory at Beetle Bank Farm".

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "The sky was very clear and blue. I was only able to see Venus, no no crescent was sighted".

Dr Wajida Hannani commented: "The hilal for Jumada II was clearly and easily visible at approximately 17.20 pm. The 'smile of the hilal' reminded me of the descriptions we hear of the smile of Nabi (S.A.W). Only the Nabi (S.A.W)'s smile would, of course, be brighter than all the moons that ever were or ever will be. Please excuse me, no photo was taken because my smartphone was out of charge. I am just coming to grips with this technology which you may be surprised to hear, is new to me".

commented: "Sighted by the three of us at Mellor, Blackburn. Was cloudy throughout however about 1hr in there was a small break in clouds for about 2 min, so managed to see it then Alhamdulillah. The moon disappeared after that".

Dr Rahail Chohan commented: "اَلْحَمْدُلِلّهِ first ever sighting! So honoured that Allah tala gave this sa’adat. I was dis-assembling all equipment when I looked up to the sky, alhamdolilla, there was a break in the clouds and the crescent moon shone so clearly. I quickly took a photo with my mobile, however, after a hasty attempt to reassemble, the clouds had shrouded the Hilal before a photo through the binoculars could be taken.".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "Unfortunately, it was totally cloudy and raining again today in York, like most of the mainland UK. Fortunately, our Cornwall and Scotland members have managed to sight the moon, Alhamdulillah".

Announcement for start of Jumada Al-Akhira 1441 AH
On Saturday 25th January 2020 (29th Jumada Al-Ula 1441 AH) the Hilal of Jumada Al-Akhira 1441 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Jumada Al-Ula 1441 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Jumada Al-Akhira 1441 AH will start from Monday 27th January 2020, InShaAllah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
