Not seen after sunset: On 12 Feb 2021, ICOUK member Dr Thron Miah from Birmingham (Sutton Coldfield) City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Dr Thron Miah commented: "No crescent seen from Birmingham between 17.15 - 18.00 pm".


Blackburn

Not seen after sunset: On 12 Feb 2021, ICOUK member Maulana Hidayatullah Patel from Blackburn City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Not seen after sunset: On 12 Feb 2021, ICOUK member Mr Sameer Ali from Bolton City in the Greater Manchester County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Sameer Ali commented: "We arrived at 17:20 pm and stayed at the location until 17:45 pm. The moon was not seen by the naked eye in its predicted location".

Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar commented: "I and two more brothers got together at Rivington to sight the crescent for Rajab 1442. The western horizon was mostly cloudy, but there was plenty of clear sky as well. The crescent was not sighted today".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy in York today (12/2/2021) after sunset but, there was a small gap above the horizon before sunset so the sunset position was clearly seen. I hope it will be easily seen tomorrow near the sunset position (weather permitting), InshaAllah".

Seen after sunset: On 12 Feb 2021, ICOUK member Mr Hatim El-Harrak from Tangier City in the Tangier-Tetouan Al-Hoceima County (Morocco) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Hatim El-Harrak commented: "All praise be to Allah, after Maghrib today, Friday, 29 Jumada al-Akhira, 1442 AH, corresponding to February 12, 2021 AD, we looked for the crescent moon of Rajab al-Fard from the city of Tangiers, and the crescent was seen, Alhmadulliah".

Seen after sunset: On 13 Feb 2021, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Abha City in the Asir County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Easy to see today".


Announcement for start of Rajab 1442 AH

On Friday 12th February 2021 (29th Jumada Al-Akhira 1442 AH) the Hilal of Rajab 1442 was not sighted in the UK, but it was sighted in Morocco. We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).

Therefore, the month of Jumada Al-Akhira 1442 AH will have 29-days and the month of Rajab 1442 AH will start from Saturday 13th February 2021, InShaAllah.

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
