Not seen after sunset: On 01 Feb 2022, ICOUK member Mr Hendrik Stahlberg from Brentwood City in the Essex County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Mr Hendrik Stahlberg commented: "It was partly cloudy sky and a young moon, which set only 4 minutes after the sun, moon not seen".


Hounslow

Not seen after sunset: On 01 Feb 2022, ICOUK member Mr Syed Rashid Qadri from Hounslow City in the Middlesex County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Syed Rashid Qadri commented: "The sky was clear with odd travelling clouds but crescent could not be seen".

Not seen after sunset: On 01 Feb 2022, ICOUK member Mr Javed Rafiq from Surbiton City in the Surrey County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Javed Rafiq commented: "The crescent was not seen with the naked eye. The skies were largely clear".


York

Not seen after sunset: On 01 Feb 2022, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was mostly cloudy in York today (1/2/2022), so the moon was not seen. In fact, even if it was crystal clear, it would be a negative sighting for an 11 hrs old moon, setting with the sun (2-3 mins behind), at a very low altitude < 0.5 deg at sunset. Better luck tomorrow, inshaAllah".

Mr Tahir Mahmood commented: "The western horizon was full of clouds and despite efforts, the Cresent was NOT seen".

Mr Musa Jabbar commented: "The crescent moon was seen via naked eyes from the Cazenove area in Hackney N16. Seen alone by myself only from this particular location though other local residents in Hackney also saw from their area/location".

Saltburn by the Sea

Not seen after sunset: On 02 Feb 2022, ICOUK member Ms Shemanara Haq from Saltburn by the Sea City in the Cleveland County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Binoculars.

Ms Shemanara Haq commented: "Location at Brotton in Saltburn by the Sea. Observation group of 13 including children. Negative sighting with naked eyes and optical aid with Muslim Sister Lucy. Overcast of clouds with occasional breaks. Sunset time 4.45 pm and moonset 6.17 pm. The first photo was taken before sunset and the second photo at 5.30 pm using iPhone 12 mini".

Mr Javed Rafiq commented: "The skies above were clear, but the horizon was cloudy as can be seen from the photo. Crescent was not seen due to the clouds".


York

Not seen after sunset: On 02 Feb 2022, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy in York today (2/2/2022) and so was most of the UK weather forecast. However, there appeared to be a clear gap near sunset and so I was hopeful for a positive sighting, but the Southwardly wind soon covered the entire western horizon where the moon was expected to be visible, so it was not seen. Nevertheless, some of our ICOUK members from the Greater London/South East Regions have managed to see it, Alhamdulillah".


Announcement for start of Rajab 1443 AH

On Tuesday 1st February 2022 (29th Jumada Al-Akhira 1443 AH) the Hilal of Rajab 1443 was not sighted in the UK to Morocco region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).

Therefore, the month of Jumada Al-Akhira 1443 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Rajab 1443 AH will start from Thursday 3rd February 2022, InShaAllah. [Note: Trial Testimonies for UK-only moon sighting will be conducted on Wed 2/2/2022 8:30 PM, InshaAllah]

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
