Not seen before sunset: On 02 Nov 2024, ICOUK member Mr Juned Patel from Bolton City in the Greater Manchester County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Juned Patel commented: "Negative sighting, as it was totally cloudy".

Not seen before sunset: On 02 Nov 2024, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York (New Earswick) City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy in York today (2/11/2024) so the moon was not seen. The moonset was about 10 mins before sunset, as is the case sometimes during the Major Lunar Standstill months in the UK. We hope it will be seen tomorrow, InshaAllah".

Not seen after sunset: On 02 Nov 2024, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from Madinah (Mount Uhud) City in the Medina Province County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "I set out from having performed my Asr Salah inside Masjid Nabawy. Brother Fuad from the UK accompanied me. The Uhud Mount is about 8km from the Masjid Nabawy. The weather was good. At Uhud, we climbed onto Jabal Rumaat hill. We observed the Western horizon. The sun disappeared behind the thick clouds at least half an hour before sunset. We could not see the crescent moon".

Mr Juned Patel commented: "On the 3rd November 2024, the sky below 12 degrees remained cloudy where I was, but the above was clear and I have not seen the moon. Yesterday, on the 2nd November, the sky was totally cloudy but had it been clear sky I still would not have seen it".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy again today (3/11/2024) so the sunset was not seen or the moon. However, I went to York Clifford’s Tower rooftop to survey the location to check the possibility of viewing the moonset at the southernmost point during the upcoming Major Lunar Standstills next month (on 3/12/2024). It appears to be a good location for a public event, subject to weather conditions. The attached photos simply show the views from SW to NW horizons (York Minister)".

Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "After the Maghrib Salah in the Madinah Jurf area outside the Masjid, I spotted the hilal easily with the naked eye. Dr Muhammed Rifaee and his son were casually walking passed. In my excitement, I invited him to join me. He was very pleased that we sighted the hilal from outside his home. He invited us into his beautiful home for delicious Qahwa and Madinah dates".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy today, once again, so the moon was not seen. The same case was in most of the UK (as often happens in November)".
Announcement for start of Jumada Al-Ula 1446 AH
On Saturday, 2nd November 2024 (29th Rabi-II 1446 AH), the Hilal of Jumada Al-Ula 1446 was not sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, the month of Rabi-II 1446 AH will complete 30 days, and the month of Jumada Al-Ula 1446 AH will start on Monday, 4th November 2024, InShaAllah.
