Blackburn (Belthorn)

Seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Mr Mohammad Quraishi from Blackburn (Belthorn) City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Mohammad Quraishi commented: "Alhamdulillah, after a lot of patience with partial clouds, the New Crescent was SEEN in Blackburn, 17:35 onwards (from Jackson Heights Rd). I had to wait for the decrease in altitude before the crescent appeared between lower clouds around half an hour before moonset".


Bridlington (Flamborough)

Seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Mr Juned Patel from Bridlington (Flamborough) City in the Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.

Mr Juned Patel commented: "I went to search for the Hilal (Waxing Crescent Moon) of Sha'ban 1446H on Thursday, 30 Jan 2025. I have seen it by Binoculars and the Naked Eye. The sky was crystal clear. I travelled to Flamborough from Bolton, UK. (Submitted on 31/1/2025 - Admin)".


Chorley

Not seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Mr Sameer Ali from Chorley City in the Greater Manchester County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Sameer Ali commented: "The crescent was behind the thick clouds and unfortunately I couldn't stay longer to wait for it to reappear".


Cradley Heath

Not seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Mr Modoris Ali from Cradley Heath City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Modoris Ali commented: "I couldn't see the moon today, even though I observed for 30 minutes".

Not seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Maulana Yusuf Mota from Leeds City in the West Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Maulana Yusuf Mota commented: "The skies were clear but due to the moon being at low altitude I missed it".

Not seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Mr Aamir Din from Manchester (Longsight) City in the Greater Manchester County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Ms Julie Breen from Redcar City in the Cleveland County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Ms Julie Breen commented: "The crescent was seen [by the naked eye]".


Whitehaven

Not seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Mr Faruq Bilbe from Whitehaven City in the Cumbria County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Mr Faruq Bilbe commented: "Only one significant cloud today, but right where I was hoping to see the moon and very little wind to move it away, it only seemed to get bigger".


York (New Earswick)

Seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York (New Earswick) City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "The two of us (I and Dr Afaq Ahmad) saw the Shaban 1446 Hilal in York on Thu, 30/1/2025 at 17:14 - 17:23 GMT, first by binoculars and then by the naked eye, Alhamdulillah. We arrived before sunset (16:42 GMT) and noted the sunset point. We prayed maghrib on site and had some tea. We saw the Venus star, which helped us look for the moon between Venus and the sunset point. Dr Afaq Ahmad saw it with the naked eye at 17:14 and I saw it with binoculars but soon afterward (17:23) by the naked eye too, Alhamdulillah".

Seen after sunset: On 30 Jan 2025, ICOUK member Prof Hassan Talibi from Benslimane City in the Casablanca-Settat County (Morocco) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.


Announcement for start of Shaban 1446 AH

On Thursday, 30th January 2025 (29th Rajab 1446 AH) the Hilal of Shaban 1446 was in the UK (Local) according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, Rajab 1446 AH will have 29 days and the month of Shaban 1446 AH will start on Friday, 31st January 2025 (making 15 Shaban 1446 fall on the night of 13th February 2025), InShaAllah.
