Not seen after sunset: On 12 Sep 2026, ICOUK member Mr Hameed Mamaniat from Blackburn City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Telescope.
Mr Hameed Mamaniat commented: "There were dense clouds everywhere, so this moon was not detected via digital imaging [with CCD camera] or the naked eye. [Submitted on 15/9/2026 - Admin]".

Not seen after sunset: On 12 Sep 2026, ICOUK member Mr Faruq Bilbe from Reading City in the Berkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Faruq Bilbe commented: "There appeared to be some breaks in the cloud, but with the moon already down to 0.6 degrees at sunset, I couldn’t find anywhere with a clear enough view of the horizon. Actually, it would be unlikely to see the Hilal at that altitude around here due to pollution [haze]".

Mr Ashruf Amod commented: "I and my son (16) went to our Taplow location (near Slough) and set up the telescope and used the Sun Surveyor app to locate the position of the moon. Unfortunately, there were lots of clouds after sunset, so we couldn't see the moon. We left the location after the moonset time".

Not seen after sunset: On 12 Sep 2026, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York (New Earswick) City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was partly cloudy in York today (12/9/2026), and the sunset was clearly seen. However, a dark bank of cloud on the lower horizon (about 2° altitude) blocked the moon. I also tried using my digital camera with an IR720 cut filter, but nothing appeared on the screen. Technically, the Moon was setting almost with the Sun at sunset in York due to the Major Lunar Standstill season, so it would not be possible to see it (by any means) due to the solar glare and haze on the lower horizon".

Hafiz Imraan Moolla commented: "I searched for the moon from just before sunset, but it was very low on the horizon and set very quickly. It would have been blocked by clouds on the horizon and also by the landmass in the way. The moon was not seen".

Mr Juned Patel commented: "I saw the moon [well before sunset] with binoculars and naked eyes a few times".

Maulana Yusuf Mota commented: "I was at my sighting point at sunset, was unable to locate the Hilal around 30 degress [left of sunset] due to lots of dense cloud near the horizon".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy today (13/9/2026) in York, but I still went to my usual observation location and saw there was a small gap near the sunset point (at 7:10 pm BST). I was hoping the cloud would move before moonset (7:39 pm BST), but it did not. So, the moon was not seen, unfortunately".

On Saturday, 12th September 2026 (29th Rabi-I 1448 AH), the Hilal of Rabi-ul Thani 1448 was not sighted in the British Isles (UK), according to the rules of Shariah.
