Not seen after sunset: On 03 Aug 2016, ICOUK member Mr Mohammed Zabhier from Birmingham City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Mohammed Zabhier commented: "Cloud cover prevented any viewing".


Cardiff

Not seen before sunset: On 03 Aug 2016, ICOUK member Dr Feras Tuma from Cardiff City in the Wales County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Dr Feras Tuma commented: "I was unable to view the crescent. There was very thick cloud cover".

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Although [the] western horizon was clear of clouds but due to so much light after sunset we couldn't see the crescent moon even today some 48 hours after it's birth".

Mr Ayub Kara commented: "Heavy clouds on wester horizon, Hilal not seen".

Not seen after sunset: On 04 Aug 2016, ICOUK member Mr Razmy Nazeer Mohamed from Saltcoats (Scotland) City in the North Ayrshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Razmy Nazeer Mohamed commented: "I have observed about 30 minutes after sunset but could not seen the moon".


Announcement for start of Dhul Qa'dah 1437 AH

On Wednesday 3rd August 2016 (29th Shawwal 1437 AH), the Hilal of Dhul Qa'dah 1437 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a negative report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).

Therefore, the UK Ulama have decided that the month of Shawwal 1437 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Dhul Qa'dah 1437 AH will start from Friday 5th August 2016, Insha-Allah.

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement for Dhul Qa'dah
