Not seen after sunset: On 24 Jul 2017, ICOUK member Dr Feras Tuma from Cardiff City in the Wales County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars or Telescope.
Dr Feras Tuma commented: "We were on Caerphilly Mountain in South Wales [271 m/889 ft high], We had an unobstructed view of the western horizon. We were present before sunset and remained present afterwards for a prolonged period. I was with two witnesses Ruslan Pilyarov and Mustafa Younis. We could not view the moon but there were a small number of faint clouds and haze just on the horizon but overall the majority of sky was clear, we did however enjoy the viewing Jupiter and Saturn afterwards".
Cradley Heath
Not seen after sunset: On 24 Jul 2017, ICOUK member Mr Modoris Ali from Cradley Heath City in the United Kingdom County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Modoris Ali commented: "I used the moon app to find moonset time on mobile phone to know time to start and end observations, that was before observations. I couldn't see the moon in the skies although it was clear skies".
Dewsbury
Not seen after sunset: On 24 Jul 2017, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Dewsbury City in the West Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Not seen. Although sky was clear there was a lot of haze near skyline. The crescent moon was not seen".

Not seen after sunset: On 24 Jul 2017, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from London City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "Over a dozen of us attempted to observe the Hilal in [London] Euston after Maghrib Salaah. The group were inexperienced observers. The location for our practical observation was not suitable. We could not observe the western horizon because of the tall buildings and trees. The Hilal was not sighted ".

Mr Mohammad Baig commented: "Despite efforts, we could not sight the moon most possibly because of the partially cloudy western horizon at sunset in Slough".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "There were over twenty people in our York Astronomical Society Observatory group, following a training session earlier in the day at the York Mosque about the principle and practice of moon sighting. Volunteers came from Doncaster (4), Bolton (2), Batley (4), Newcastle (1) and York (4), plus a number of astronomers. It was clear sky before sunset but it soon became cloudy after sunset when the moon was very close to the horizon below the treeline. Two of the astronomers said they saw it with binoculars (before sunset) for few seconds, but majority of us could not see it with either binoculars or naked eye (before or after sunset). It was good practice for our new participants and they went away confident to try the methods of locating the moon in their own cities in future, InshaAllah".

Seen before sunset: On 25 Jul 2017, ICOUK member Mr Juned Patel from Bolton City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Juned Patel commented: "Three of us have seen the moon with naked eye between 21:04 to 21:16, at 11° to 9°, and then it disappeared in the clouds".
Announcement for start of Dhul Qa'dah 1438 AH
On Monday 24th July 2017 (29th Shawwal 1438 AH), the Hilal of Dhul Qa'dah 1438 was not sighted in the UK (after sunset), but it was sighted in Morocco. We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Shawwal 1438 AH will have 29-days and the month of Dhul Qa'dah 1438 AH will start from Tuesday 25th July 2017, Insha-Allah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement for Dhul Qa'dah
