Crescent Moon Visibility of Ramadan 1441 AH
Prediction: The crescent visibility map below for Ramadan 1441 shows that moon will be born on 23 April 2020 at 02:26 GMT/UT, but will not be visible by the naked-eye anywhere in the UK/Morocco region on that date. However, on 24 April 2020, the moon will be easily visible in the UK and in most countries of the world. Hence, the month of Ramadan is most likely to start from 25 April 2020, InShaAllah. Announcement for start of Ramadan 1441 AH
On Thursday 23rd April 2020 (29th Shaban 1441 AH) the Hilal of Ramadan 1441 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Shaban 1441 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Ramadan 1441 AH will start from Saturday 25th April 2020 (1st Tarawih from the night of Friday 24th April 2020), InShaAllah.
We are aware of unverified moon sighting claims from some countries from the Middle East and Far East today (23 April 2020). We know many of them through our ICOP network (www.astronomycenter.net) who use CCD imaging cameras to detect the invisible moon [during daylight in Infra-Red wavelength]. Our UK ulama only consider verified moon sighting with the human eye (Muhaqaqh Ruyat Basari) after our own sunset [in visible light wavelength] from the UK (to Morocco) Region only.
Note that Saudi Arabia normally announce the start of Ramadan on their SPA (www.spa.gov.sa) website.
