On Saturday, 6th July 2024 (29th Dhul Hijjah 1445 AH) the Hilal of Muharram 1446 was not sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah. However, we have received one testimony of a sighting with binoculars, which was insufficient. Therefore, the month of Dhul Hijjah 1445 AH will complete 30 days and the month of Muharram 1446 AH will start on Monday, 8th July 2024 (making Ashura on Wednesday, 17th July 2024), InShaAllah. It is recommended to fast on the 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th or all 3 days (9th, 10th and 11th) of Muharram, InshaAllah.

Significance of Ashura (10 Muharram)
1. Narrated Ibn `Abbas (R): When the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived at Medina he found that the Jews observed fast on the day of 'Ashura'. They were asked the reason for the fast. They replied, "This is the day when Allah caused Moses and the children of Israel to have victory over Pharaoh, so we fast on this day as a sign of glorifying it." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "We are closer to Moses than you." Then he ordered that fasting on this day should be observed. (Bukhari) http://sunnah.com/bukhari/63/168 
2. Abdullah b 'Abbas (R) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said: "If I live till the next (year), I would definitely observe fast on the 9th [along with the 10th]", and the narration transmitted by Abu Bakr said: "He meant the day of Ashura." (Muslim) http://sunnah.com/muslim/13/173

The crescent visibility map below for Dhul Hijjah 1445 (RHS) shows that the moon will be born on 6 June 2024 at 12:38 GMT/UT, but it will not be visible to the naked eye anywhere in the UK to Morocco (MA) region on that date. However, on 7 June 2024, it will be easily visible in the UK and in most parts of the world. On Friday, 7th June 2024 (29th Dhul Qa'dah 1445 AH), the Hilal of Dhul Hijjah 1445 was sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, the month of Dhul Qa'dah 1445 AH will have 29 days and the month of Dhul Hijjah 1445 AH will start on Saturday, 8th June 2024 (making Eid-ul Adha on Monday, 17th June 2024), InShaAllah. Significance of Dhul Hijjah (first 10 days)  
1. Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?" He (ﷺ) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it." (Bukhari, Book 9, Hadith 259)
2. Abu Qatadah (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about the observance of Saum (fasting) on the day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah). He said, "It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year and the current year." (Muslim, Book 9, Hadith 260)

The crescent visibility map below for Shawwal 1445 (RHS) shows that the moon will be born on 8 April 2024 at 18:21 GMT/UT, but it will not be visible by the naked eye anywhere in the UK to Morocco (MA) region on that date. However, on 9 April 2024, the moon may be easily seen in the UK and in most parts of the world. Hence, the month of Shawwal is most likely to start on 10 April 2024, InShaAllah. Note that there will be a Total Solar Eclipse on 8 April 2024 in Western Europe and the Americas and a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse on 24 - 24 March 2024 across Europe to the Americas.
