It is recommended to fast on the 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th or all 3 days (9th, 10th and 11th) of Muharram, InshaAllah.

Significance of Ashura (10 Muharram)
1. Narrated Ibn `Abbas (R): When the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived at Medina he found that the Jews observed fast on the day of 'Ashura'. They were asked the reason for the fast. They replied, "This is the day when Allah caused Moses and the children of Israel to have victory over Pharaoh, so we fast on this day as a sign of glorifying it." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "We are closer to Moses than you." Then he ordered that fasting on this day should be observed. (Bukhari) http://sunnah.com/bukhari/63/168

On Tuesday, 27th May 2025 (29th Dhul Qa'dah 1446 AH), the Hilal of Dhul Hijjah 1446 was sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah.  Therefore, Dhul Qa'dah 1446 AH will have 29 days, and Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH will start on Wednesday, 28th May 2025 (making Eid-ul Adha fall on Friday, 6th June 2025), InShaAllah.

Significance of Dhul Hijjah (first 10 days)  
1. Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?" He (ﷺ) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it." (Bukhari, Book 9, Hadith 259)
2. Abu Qatadah (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about the observance of Saum (fasting) on the day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah). He said, "It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year and the current year." (Muslim, Book 9, Hadith 260)
