Regional Testimony Groups

We are pleased to inform you that many UK scholars and Masque Committees are now seriously considering adopting Local Moon Sightings, pioneered by the ICOUK since 2008, Alhamdulillah.

We have been requested to develop a robust and efficient Testimony and Declaration system, with representatives from all UK regions (see list below), to report every month, whether the moon is seen or not seen (in both cases).

We have conducted a trial with representatives from 10 Regional Groups (see attached map), but we need more volunteers to join from all the major UK cities.

If you are in a local moon sighting group and willing to join us on the UK 29^th Hijri date for a few minutes (30 mins, max), about 1 hour after sunset, please join us on Zoom. The next meeting will be on Sunday, 17/5/2026 (29 Dhul Qa'dah 1447), inshaAllah.

You will simply need to inform us if you (or anyone in your region) has seen the moon (or not). You can also get priority news of declarations from our Ulama Panel before others!
